  Ceanothus, or California Lilac is a long lived bushy shrub with lavender flowers in late spring or early summer. This cultivar, 'Blue Jeans' has flowers the color of faded denim that are produced in pairs along the stems in masses. What a show! Full sun is needed to keep the plant happy, and little water is preferred
  Ceanothus, or California Lilac is a long lived bushy shrub with lavender flowers in late spring or early summer. This cultivar, 'Blue Jeans' has flowers the color of faded denim that are produced in pairs along the stems in masses. What a show! Full sun is needed to keep the plant happy, and little water is preferred in summer. This plant is tolerant to alkaline soils, but prefers acid conditions. Once established, the plant is very maintenance free and easy. Protect from strong winds, as it can become brittle and will break if wind whipped. Excellent for screening. Will grow to be 6ft x 6ft in 10 years. Hardy to zone 7.
