STC Coles 4033-A Ribbon Microphone - Good Working Condition
A nice working STC 4033-A, this is the British version of the Western Electric 639A, but is much better built, with a heavy, durable body. Very robust. This one has seen a bit of wear on the body, but looks fresh and untouched inside.<br><br>The bottom cell of the microphone is a Coles 'ball and biscuit' 4035 dynamic microphone, above which is a figure of 8 ribbon motor. The mic can be used in three patterns; figure of 8 (ribbon only), cardiod (combined), and omni (dynamic).<br><br>A very versatile and nice sounding mic, I have used these on either figure of 8 for a nice dark sound, or on cardiod for a nice bounce and edge.<br><br>Canadian customers will have to pay appropriate sales tax depending on province.
