Description

The French extreme skier Patrick Vallencant (1946-1989) skiing the South Face of the Grandes Jorasses on the Italian side of the Massif of Mont Blanc in 1987. Vallencant was killed in a nonskiing related climbing accident in the South of France in 1989. In addition to numerous first descents throughout the world, Vallencant popularized his exploits in a series of films and created his own line of ski clothing, Degre 7.
