Kari Marie (nee, Hostutler) Rider, 54, of Lapeer, died Saturday, March 10, 2018. Kari was born June 20, 1963 in Mt. Pleasant to Charlie and Penelope “Penny” (Stansberry) Hostutler. She graduated from Oxford High School, class of 1981. Kari worked many years at Lapeer County Bank & Trust in the data processing area. Kari was a gifted artist particularly with arts and crafts. She also could bake with the best pastry chefs around. Above all, Kari loved her children. Kari is survived by her children: Jacob (Savannah) Rider of Northville and Olivia (Connor) Rider of Lapeer; father, Charlie (Barb) Hostutler of the Villages, Florida and her sister, Lori Hostutler of Mt. Pleasant. Kari was preceded in death by her mother, Penny Vannelli and her grandparents: Ken & Margaret Hostutler and George & Lorraine Stansberry.A memorial service will be held at 3PM Friday, March 16, 2018 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Kari’s family will receive friends from 1-3PM Friday the day of the memorial. In keeping with Kari’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.
